Our love story began…

Whilst Dean went to school with my older sister, we didn’t meet as adults until a friend brought Dean to my 25^th birthday drinks. After 6 months of talking, I finally agreed to a first date – and it was the best decision I have ever made. 

The proposal was…

When I was 21 I went on an all girls trip to Hawaii with my closest girl friends. 10 years later, we all went on holiday together to Hawaii again, but this time with partners and children as well.

Whilst spending a day exploring the island, Dean suggested we check out a waterfall. We walked the trail up to the waterfall, and upon reaching the site Dean asked a local to take our photo in front of the beautiful waterfall. Dean then surprised me by getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him – all whilst the local man was recording the proposal on Dean’s phone so that we have this most special moment captured forever.

It made it all the more special to then be able to celebrate the engagement with all my closest friends, in on of the most beautiful places on earth.

We wanted our wedding to be…

We wanted our wedding to be classic, relaxed and most of all fun! We knew having a large family ang circle of friends that it was going to be such a great party, and we kept it classic so that the fun could really shine through.

Seeing all our loved ones having such a great time on the day/night, and how happy they were to see us get married, really was the highlight and the feel of the entire wedding.

My dress was…

My experience at Luv Bridal began in the Sydney store, with the lovely Jackie. Jackie really listened to what I was searching for in a dress, and her expertise in knowing what would suit my personal style and shape was so helpful.

Whilst I thought many of the dresses looked pretty on, Jackie could tell I was unsure and actually advised me to go and try on more dresses, as I needed to be sure of “the one”.

I did come back to Jackie, for a second appointment and tried on some new styles as well as some from my previous visit. When I tried on Bellerose again, and Jackie found a second dress in white for me to compare, I knew I had found the one. I couldn’t stop smiling, and knew I would be so happy to wear this dress on my special day.

My amazingly talented other made some adjustments to the dress, and added some additional lace edging to the bustline, to give a softer, scalloped edge.

The best moment of the day…

The best moment of the day was definitely walking down the aisle and seeing the big smile on Dean’s face. At that moment, any nerves disappeared and I felt so happy and excited to start our married life together.

The soundtrack to our big day was…

We chose some new and classic love songs to start the day with, and ended the night with all the very best classic party songs that resulted in a packed dance floor all night long.

Our photographers Luna Imagery were beyond amazing on the day. They captured every moment so perfectly!

Not only are David and Melissa such talented photographers, but their easygoing personalities made them feel like friends to us on the day, and in turn were at ease in sharing such a special day and many intimate moments with them.

One unusual thing about our big day was…

We kept our day quite simple, so we could enjoy the day without having to worry or plan for any surprises to unfold.

As a married couple we most look forward to…

We are excited to continue our lives together, now as husband and wife, and whatever that might mean for us.

The best advice we can give to other couples about to get married is…

Just to remember that the day is about the BOTH OF YOU. Make sure all your choices and decisions are the best choices for YOU, as it will be your memories that you will cherish forevermore.
