Our love story began…

Allan and I first met at DHL where we both worked in 2013. We worked together and formed a friendship for 3 years before it turned into a romance.

The proposal was…

Allan tried to keep it all a surprise but unfortunately I know him all too well. We decided for our anniversary we would take a holiday to Port Stephens. As part of my anniversary present, Allan organized a couples photoshoot up on the headlands. We started off with a few cute shots before our photographer asked us to play a game. We both had some paper and frames and were asked to write down what we love about each other. On the count of 3 turn around. As I turned around, Allan was down on one knee with the ring in one hand and in the other the frame saying “Jessie, will you marry me?”

We wanted our wedding to be…

We wanted to go with a vintage luxe theme and a bit of a fairytale. We decided on Waterview in Bicentennial Park as we had been there a few times and loved it. They helped us with our fairylight back drop and cake. We also decided to have bird cages and tea lights for our centerpieces. The whole reception came together so beautifully and everyone loved it.

My dress was…

I first walked into Luv Bridal in Parramatta with about 5 different dresses I wanted to try on that I had seen on the website. As soon as I had walked in, I had seen Delainie – front and centre on display and decided then and there that I had to try that on first. When I tried it on, I just knew it was the one for me. I didn’t want to get out of it. I felt like an absolute princess in the dress. Then I turn around and see my Mum in tears and knew it was definitely the one. It was such an elegant piece. The big surprise however, was when Allan saw it. I had described to him a completely different dress. When he saw me in the dress, he couldn’t believe I lied to him but it was exactly what he had expected me to wear.

The best moment of the day…

The moment I walked through the church and started up the aisle to my soon to be husband, all nerves just disappeared and I couldn’t believe my luck. Somehow, I was marrying my best friend and the man of my dreams. This man loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

The soundtrack to our big day was…

We chose Perfect by Ed Sheeran for me to walk down the aisle to as it just suited us and the way Allan felt about me.

We chose Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran as our first dance as it gave us that tingly feeling everytime we heard it and just made us smile. It was like the song was made for us.

We’d like to give a special mention to…

We would like to give special thanks to Hugo Photography and Videography as he is just amazing in what he does. Nothing was too hard for him and he went above and beyond to help us. Even managing to calm down an anxious bride to be on the day.

One unusual thing about our big day was…

We decided that we wanted to keep the kids happy on the day and we put together a kids activity book. However, with a little twist we used all our own photos for the colouring in pages.

As a married couple we most look forward to…

Starting a family. Buying a house. Just the future in general.

The best advice we can give to other couples about to get married is…

Don’t lose sight of the fact that it is just a day. Take a moment to sit back and people watch. You get to see how much fun everyone is having. And make sure you take 5 minutes to yourself. Just the Bride and the Groom.
