Our love story began…
We met the usual way through close friends, who had been trying to set us up for weeks, each time one of us was busy, finally the stars aligned we were both free for a party they were throwing, we met, and that’s where our love story began, 3 short weeks later we were dating, 6 years, a house and 3 adorable dogs later he FINALLY proposed… The start of our new beginning.
The proposal was…
The proposal was very chilled, a quiet, 6 year anniversary dinner at home, after the restaurant we had planned to go to closed down days prior, surrounded by our fur babies, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife after 6 years of waiting of course I said a very relieved YES!
We wanted our wedding to be…
We really wanted our wedding to be relaxed, fun, really a party and a true celebration, and Adora Downs could not have been a better fit, super relaxed with a country vibe, we could party the night away with no lock out time and then when your feet couldn’t dance anymore it was just a short stroll to the on- site accommodation for us and all our guests in rustic farm houses, and more than enough food from the canapés, to the main meal, the dessert and cheese platters, the late night roast meat and gravy rolls to a buffet breakfast the next morning for everyone’s sore heads.
Michael, Michelle and the team could not have been more accommodating what ever they could do they would and the word NO is not in their vocabulary.
My dress was…
Luv Bridal was my first and only choice to find my dream dress, I didn’t want to spend months looking for one and knew I wouldn’t have that issue with Luv bridal after doing my online research.
I booked my appointment with your store in Slacks Creek, on arrival the ladies were extremely warm and welcoming with my somewhat large group that didn’t want to miss this important moment, I showed them all my screen shots and she put together a few dresses for me to try on, the last dress I tried on was one my mum and best friend had picked, Claire, from the moment I tried her on, and the moment I saw everyone’s faces I knew she was the one, she made me feel confident and beautiful and was exactly what I wanted in my dress, and I felt the exact same on the day, I was so excited to put Claire on I shared a few tears with my mum and I just couldn’t wait to see everyone’s faces, including my husband to be I had always told him if I didn’t see tears I was turning around and walking the aisle again and boy did he not disappoint, I was greeted by a huge smile and tears in his eyes.
The best moment of the day…
While eating dinner Jae and I both stopped and just took a moment to look around at all our friends and family, watching them laugh and catch up really made us realise how lucky and grateful we were to be surrounded by such amazing people, and we couldn’t imagine sharing the start of our new beginning with anyone else.
The soundtrack to our big day was…
Was all about us, songs that had meaning to us, our first dance song was Tangled up in you- Staind, we didn’t want cliche music and really wanted every aspect of our day to be special and mean something to us.
And we definitely wanted a fun live band that would make everyone get up and dance!
We’d like to give a special mention to…
Everyone did such a great job and really they all deserve a special mention, but probably my sister in law Amanda who is a hair dresser for putting her hand up and offering to do the bridal parties hair, she did such an incredible job and made all of us look stunning, she could have had a stress free morning but decided to join in on the chaos.
The love quote that resonates most with us as a couple is…
You will forever be my always & I will love you, with my whole heart, for my whole life.
One unusual thing about our big day was…
The morning of our wedding we took a moment to grab a coffee, go for a walk around Adora Downs, and give each other a hand written letter to read before the ceremony, we wanted our day to really be all about us the hand written letter and our own vows really made it special.
As a married couple we most look forward to…
Definitely renovating our house and making it home that we can raise our family in, somewhere to create great memories.
The best advice we can give to other couples about to get married is…
It’s very easy to get caught up in everything wedding before the day and on the day so my advice would be 1. To make the time to write your own vows, it really makes you think why you want to spend the rest of your life with them and why and what you love about them, and definitely makes your ceremony more special and 2.To really take a moment to remember what the day is all about, I’m usually a perfectionist and can get easily irritated, but by taking a step back and remembering what the day was about I was the most calm I have ever been that I even nearly walked down the aisle without my shoes.
You will forever be my always & I will love you, with my whole heart, for my whole life
