Our love story began…

Levi and I met during our first year of university. I was studying Psychology and Criminology and he was studying engineering. He asked me to dinner and we were inseparable ever since.

 The proposal was…

We went to dinner at Tamborine Mountain. The restaurant had views of the entire Gold Coast. Afterwards I asked to walk down to the edge which had an arbour and a love swing. A few minutes later he was down on one knee. Fast forward almost two years and we got married under that same arbour.

We wanted our wedding to be…

A garden style wedding, with a hint of glamour. Our favourite thing to do is drive through the mountains. So we wanted our wedding to reflect this. The venue was sentimental to us as we got engaged there, and as it was on the edge of Tamborine Mountain overlooking the Gold Coast it was easy to achieve a beautiful “greenery” themed wedding.

My dress was…

Incredible! It was exactly what I envisioned. I had my two younger sisters as my bridesmaids, and bought them and my mum dress shopping with me. It was such an exciting day. They loved picking out styles for me to try on. I believe the dress I wore was the very first dress I tried on!

The best moment of the day…

During golden hour getting our wedding photos taken, just the two of us. We were standing on the edge of the mountain looking out at the sunset, and my husband said “how blessed are we”. I will never forget that moment.

The soundtrack to our big day was…

A thousand years by Christina Perri was my aisle song. Our first dance was to “from the ground up” by Dan and Shay.

We’d like to give a special mention to…

Our photographers! Bulb Creative. Harley and Ainsley were so helpful in the lead up to our big day. After seeing one photo of a friend’s wedding we tracked down who took that photo and booked a meeting with them straight away! They made us feel so comfortable behind the camera, and they were so relaxed on the day it made us feel clam too.

Also our florist – Eufloria Florist. Nyree went above and beyond for our wedding. She wrote back to me at all hours of the day, and kept me completely involved in the process leading up to our wedding.

One unusual thing about our big day was…

My husband is a well known fan of his VB.. so during the garter toss we had our DJ hide a VB under the chair. We had the song “another one bites the dust” playing as he went under for the garter he came up drinking the VB. It was safe to say it was a crowd pleaser!

As a married couple we most look forward to…

Seeing what the future has install for us as Mr and Mrs. We’re saving for a house in the near future, and plan to start a family.

The best advice we can give to other couples about to get married is…

Take a moment to just be by yourself, as newlyweds. We did this during our wedding photos as mentioned earlier. We also made sure during our reception we took a moment to observe all of our closest friends and family who had attended this day just for us two. That was very special.
