Congratulations to Colette & Nathan!

WEDDING DATE: 18th November 2016

Tell us about your love story!

We met as teenagers, whilst with our friends along the waterfront by David’s home town of Davistown NSW. Whilst sitting on the wharf I thought I dropped a $10 note in the water, David said he would give me $10 if I kissed him, I did…..not knowing he saved my $10 from going into the water. Ultimately he bought a kiss from me with my own money.

David continued to use the theme of the $10 note when he put it in the ring and proposed to me a the tip of Australia in Cape York.

Describe what marriage means to you.

I feel marriage combines two people to become united and more like one. We have decided to share the rest of our lives with each other.

The wedding location.

We got married at Boomerang Farm Mudgeeraba. As soon as I found it I booked an appointment and got the next available date possible. Boomerang farm is a relaxed and rustic setting which suited David and I to a T!

The theme of your wedding.

We wanted everyone to relax and enjoy themselves so simplicity was the key. We love the colour blue and got what we could in that colour and kept it as rustic as possible

The bride’s dress.

The dress I chose was the third dress I tried on, and a dress the lovely Renea from the Logan store chose from me. As soon as I put it on I knew, I felt comfortable, I felt like a princess and it just sat on me perfectly. It had the lace I wanted, the sleeves with the perfect length train and it blew everyone away including the Hubby. His a man of few words but he said I was beautiful and it was what he imagined it would be and guests said I looked like a real princess.

Ceremony & reception.

The Boomerang farm is a one stop shop, the ceremony was on the deck within the greenery and in the setting of the tree house. The reception was in the barn, rustic with so much charm.

Wedding songs.

I walked down the isle to A thousand years by Boyce Avenue, our first dance was Say you won’t let go by James Arthur.

Food, food, food!

To keep the relaxed feel we decided to cater for most needs and have a buffet. David didn’t have many requests other than a pig on the spit so Spits and Pieces catered to our every need. Pork, Chicken, Beef, vegies and plenty of deserts. We were flooded with compliments in regards to the food, there was plenty of it and it had plenty of flavour.

Most memorable moment.

I cannot describe just one moment because I absolutely loved the entire day, from start to finish (I actually just didn’t want it to end!). If I could do it all over again I would and I wouldn’t change a thing.

What about the extra details?

My father passed away 6 months prior to my wedding day, I kept him and my nanna with me at all times through a photo of them attached to my bridal bouquet. I also honoured our grandparents & great grandparents by showing there wedding pictures in the barn above the fireplace. Those little touches were important to me.

What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom planning their wedding?

Don’t stress over the little things, at the end of the day it is all about the Bride and Groom and the people that are most important to you will be there with you to support you and celebrate with you. Enjoy every minute because it goes too quickly.

Favourite love quote.

David bought me a rather large wooden sign for our house that says the following which I adore.

“To the world you may be one person but to one person you may be the world.”

What do you look forward to most as Mr. & Mrs.?

I look forward to growing stronger as not just a couple but as Husband & Wife. I get excited calling him my husband and hearing him call me his wife. We can’t wait to start family together and enjoy the next chapter of our lives.

Did you Have Videographer?

Yes we used Aaron from Last Minute Videographers. He was fantastic, made everyone laugh and just added to the relaxed feel of the day.
