Congratulations to Rachael & Karl
WEDDING DATE: 23rd September 2016
NUMBER OF GUESTS: 100
Tell us about your love story!
Karl and I met while out with friends one night at a local nightclub. His strange dancing made me notice him and we have been each other’s shadows ever since.
Karl arranged a romantic night away beside the beach and popped the question on the balcony overlooking the sunset.
What is the meaning of marriage to you?
Marriage to me means you’ve been blessed to find the one person who connects with you on the same level and you get to spend the rest of your life with them.
The wedding location.
We had our ceremony in St Annes Church, Bohernabreena, Ireland. It is located at the foot of the Dublin Mountains. We chose this church as I was baptized here and my grandparents married here many years ago.
Our reception was at Leixlip House Hotel, Ireland. We chose this as it was a beautiful restored Georgian house and was small and intimate.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme / vibe?
We chose a rustic, laid back theme as we wanted the day to be relaxed and low key.
I chose the Mia Solana dress Belle. The lace fitted perfectly with our rustic theme and it was fitted yet simple. I had simple lace straps added as I was conscious around my bust area. I chose the matching cathedral length veil and it added a romantic edge.
Karl adored my dress and complimented me many times throughout the day.
I walked down the aisle to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” as this is my favorite song and I have many amazing memories associated with it.
Our first dance was to “Heaven”, the acoustic version by Bryan Adams.
Food, food, food!
The food at Leixlip House Hotel was incredible. For appetizer we had Ceasar Salad. For Entrée we had Cream of Vegetable Soup and Homemade bread. The main was Turkey and Ham with a side of vegetable and potatoes and dessert was meringue with fresh fruit and cream.
Most memorable moment.
My most memorable moment was spending time with all of our guests. As we live overseas in Australia, time with our family and friends is sparse so having them part of our special day was extra special.
What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom planning their wedding?
Don’t stress, everything will fall into place on the day!
Favourite love quote.
“Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gave us a fairytale”. We had this on our invitations.
What do you look forward to most as Mr. & Mrs.?
Starting the new chapter of our lives together.
