Leanne & Matt
– Peel Manor House, Karnup, Western Australia
WEDDING DATE: 26th November 2015
GUEST NUMBERS: 84
Surrounded by family and friends and “I just can’t stop loving you” playing in the background, Leanne and Matt promised to love, honor, and treasure each other for the rest of their lives and sealed their devotion with a kiss.
TELL ABOUT YOUR LOVE STORY:
Matt took me out for a lovely dinner at Fraser’s Restaurant in Kings park, we had a lovely dinner then went for a nice walk looking out at the city and sunset. Matt then had a lovely letter he wrote which he gave to me to read (however had to read it to me, to many tears ha-ha). He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, of course I said yes!
The next morning we drove down to Busselton (where my mum was on holiday) to which we were surprised with a champagne breakfast and presents organised by my gorgeous mum and sister.
DESCRIBE WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS TO YOU:
To us marriage is a commitment you make to the person you love and wish to go through life’s many events with. Supporting each other through the good and the not so good. Accepting that each other aren’t perfect, however, loving the little things that makes them, them. Most importantly having fun and laughing together and with family.
TELL US ALL ABOUT YOUR WEDDING VENUE:
Peel Manor House in Karnup, WA
The manor had a somewhat country feel with the old trucks in the gardens which suited Matt, and the moment we walked in to view the venue Michael Jackson was playing (my absolute favourite) and it was a sign this was the perfect place. We were also looking for a cosy place that allowed us to have the ceremony and reception all in the one place, and this was perfect! Not to mention that Paul the coordinator is absolutely wonderful! He is so friendly and makes you feel very comfortable and looked after.
We had rustic theme, I wore lace/pearls and we had slices of tree trunk as part of center pieces rather than traditional mirrors.
Both the Ceremony and Reception were at Peel Manor House
Aisle song = “I just can’t stop loving you” By Michael Jackson
First Dance = “Thinking out loud” Ed Sheeran
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT:
The moment you find most memorable on your wedding day.
Walking down the aisle and seeing my husband to be standing at the alter with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen! Also, seeing my little step son Noah (7) for the first time in his suit ready lead the bridesmaids down the aisle.
WHAT ABOUT THE DETAILS?
Another special detail when my bridesmaids, mum and friends surprised us with a dance to Michael Jackson thriller with costumes and dry ice smoke! It was awesome (especially since they only had time for one practice).
WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE A BRIDE AND GROOM PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
I know everyone says it, but it’s true, as much as you want to try and make everyone happy, when it comes down to it you need to do what you want to do as it is your day and the start of your life together. However, if some things don’t go to plan, don’t worry, just enjoy yourself in the moment and think of the bigger picture.
P.s. Mums are AWESOME wedding planners
FAVOURITE LOVE QUOTE:
“Eventually all the pieces fall into place, until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment and know that everything happens for a reason”
